NEWCOMER GUIDE

Welcome to Remnant Canine! We see you've gathered interest in our survival based roleplay and look forward to seeing a new name join our database shortly! The Newcomer Guide will walk you through our simple Set-up process to ensure a swift and thorough entrance into our roleplay. The steps below are short and to the point. If you have questions, please submit them to the Assistance forum or the Assistance channel in RC's discord server!

OOC AND IC ACCOUNTS
Each member will register their Out of Character (OOC) accounts first. OOC accounts are not used in the roleplay section, but are used in the Community and Welcome sections of the forums. OOC accounts are used to identify who character belongs to who by filling out the OOC field in profiles. In Character accounts are used for the obvious, which is the roleplay section labeled Canidae. Each character created need their own account. So if you plan to have three characters on the forum, you will be registering three character accounts, one for each specific character. Characters are unlimited, we simply ask that all members be responsible for their own character accounts as deemed appropriate. All character account username must be the name of the character that account is associated with. Refer to the Remnant Canine Laws for conditions on username creations.

SET-UP PROFILES
As soon as your OOC account and first character account (or more if you decide to register more than one at the start), you'll need to fill out a few profile fields that are required before you move on to the next step. Please ensure that the OOC and ROLE fields are filled out. RP PLACE is an optional field but it is useful in case others wonder where your character currently is in the RP. If you plan to start off as a Role within a selected pack and not as a Rogue, please submit your rank request to the Maintenance forum with the label "Rank Request".

PORTFOLIOS
In this case, Portfolios are forums made by staff for you to use and moderate as you need to. Portfolios can be used to stash Posting Table codes, thread trackers, shipping trackers, and anything else you want to put in there. Portfolios are requested in the Maintenance forum with a topic title label of "YOUR NAMES Portfolio" i.e "Noellas Portfolio. How you choose to structure your portfolio is up to you, just detail what you want and staff will see it made. Portfolios are optional, but very useful!

BIOGRAPHIES
As long as tradition of roleplay can speak, biographies have been an important part of roleplaying, though in this case, Remnant Canine is indifferent. Biographies are entirely optional before jumping into the roleplay so if you are a person who has your character mapped out in your head, that's perfectly fine! Biographies can be posted at any time and are not required to enter the roleplay. For those who do decide to submit a biography as well as those who don't, keep the Character Guidelines in mind while making a biography and roleplaying.

Please, feel free to start anywhere in the roleplay. Create a new topic in one of the vast lands of Canidae or join an open topic. Check out a list of Open Topic in the Updates forum as well as Open Topic channel in the sites discord and the on-site chat box.
