ROLES

The Leadership of any wolf in Canidae is quite simple. The difficulty of survival is higher for a Rogue than that of a wolf within a pack. However, there is also risk in a pack as well. Sociable as Canines are, they also excerpt a level of dominance upon one another. In this case, the Leadership below begins with the Leaders who have the highest Dominance and the others below them follow in suit. Dominance of Canidae is based on the tenure and the relationship of the pack as well Loyalty and productivity in their chosen roles.

Characters may change their rank at any time within reason of a roleplay plot or event. Members may choose to start as a Rogue or request the rank of their choice upon registration. To request your rank(and so it's not forgotten about) please submit your rank requests in the Maintenance Forum. If you are a Rogue, be sure to say so when you submit character to be added to the Database in Maintanence as well.

If there is a particular rank you want and it's not in the list below, feel free to request it in the Expansions Forum. Ranks may be removed, added, open or closed as needed. Leader role characters will require an activity of at least an 8 or higher. To view who is in what role, visit the sites Database.

LEADERS: Usually a mated pair, Leaders of the pack direct activities for the pack to accomplish and carry out. The difficulty level of these tasks may vary. Leaders have a litter of pups in the Fall and usually retire once the pups are grown should they choose to remain with the pack.

GUARDIANS: Skilled in the art of combat, these wolves patrol the borders of the packs territory as well as accompany hunts, oversee duels, and escort the Leaders when leaving the pack territory. These wolves fend off predators, unfriendly Rogues, hostile prey such as Moose.

SEEKERS: Known as hunters, Seekers explore and discover as well as find and direct a hunting trip with the pack. Wolves of this role are expect to contribute to the food stocl of the pack buries near the den for safe keeping. They also readily assist Rogues who join the pack to learn the ways and navigation of the pack territory.

SCOUTS: Skilled in the arts of silent movement and the knowledge of each Province, Scouts utilize their skills in the tasks involving assassinations and spying on other Factions. Scouts group together with Seekers on occassion when spending time in another Factions territory to send and receive messages to and from the pack. They also keep near the Leaders during risky situations and remain a last defense while the Paladins and Guardians defend the rest of the pack.

PALADINS: Healers, Caretakers and Messengers of the pack, Paladins have much to do. They tend to the sick, care for the young when the parents are away, as well as carry messages to and from their fellow pack members or even those outside the pack, good or bad. Paladins are often seen as Ambassadors and are capable of taking on the roles of a Guardian when the need is dire.

OFFSPRING: Heirs or general newborns of the pack, Offspring are playable from 6 months old and join the Leadership of the pack at one year. Their survival weighs heavily on the other pack members before they are on their own at two years old. Offspring may choose to take on the ranks of their parents or create their own path.

ROGUES: Rogues are mysteries wolves who may pose themselves as friend, foe or even double agents. Wolves do not need to be within a pack, but keep in mind the survival effectiveness for Rogues is significantly higher than those in a pack, which means they are susceptible to disease, famine, natural disasters and other survival based entities than those in a pack.
